Re: fish list

Well the list was posted here a bit ago for everyone to chip in ect

ANd one thing about any list is it will be wrong but hay the line has to be drawn at sometime

As pointed out to me there is only one carp record thus only one rec.. thus only one fish will count

As said above no matter what the list is it will always be wrong for what ever reason

Soooooooooo yes its only one carp

Oh the thread
Next years freshwater list

Re: fish list

yes i find myself agreeing with you as there is only the one carp record so i bow to your answer
but we want them as lots of different species as this will severly dent my scoring ability as i had already lined up all the different carp species lol
never mind will just have to take up sea fishing get a few exta ones there lol

Re: fish list

Isn't a crucian carp a different species with it's own record weight? I agree with leather, mirror etc. as they are basically the same fish with different scales and koi carp are basically just ornamental fish that are thrown into some commercial fisheries.

Re: fish list

ok but my view on this is you can catch all different types of ray and wrasse . bream etc all the same fish but not to have all the different kinds of carp gives a big disadvantage to the freshwater fisherman it also takes away the fun of catching them

Re: fish list

Sorry Phill, but I disagree with you. The different types of Wrasse, Rays and Bream are all very different in both looks and features. Many of them also vary quite dramatically in the habitat that they are found and also what they feed on.
Where as Carp can basically be grouped into 3 main species, those being Crucian, Grass and the rest.
It got a little bit ridiculous last year with people claiming sub species that didnt even exist, like a fully scalled Mirror Carp and varying colours of Goldfish.
I agree also with Richard that a line has to drawn somewhere.
