Grayling on the fly

Heading up to the river Tummel tomorrow for a spot of Grayling fishing. Anyone ever fished there before? Got a good few tips from some of the threads here and hope to be back on tomorrow night with a good report of how the days fishing went.

anymore advice would be very welcome.

Cheers

Re: Grayling on the fly

The car won this morning, it wouldnt start. Nightmare. Going to head up there on Monday now just my luck. I was fishing on the river Tay at Kenmore a few times last week and the week before, just spinning and I didnt manage to catch a Salmon, plenty were jumping straight out of the water but not going for any lure. It cost £25 a rod to fish there and I was up there 3 times, you can imagine my frurstration. LOL. But it wasnt to bad in the end I managed to hook into a 4 1/2lb Sea trout my m8 said it was a Kelt but im not so sure. And I cought a 2lb Brownie. Both put back safely. So I thought after all the hype about going away today I thought I atleast owe you something. LOL. Well I will get my car back on Monday morning, and im off that day so I will head up there straight away for a shot at the Grayling with my fly rod. hopefully.

Thumbs up Re: Grayling on the fly

Tight lines IB, looking forward to hearing how you get on. Spent a night at Pitlochry many years ago & the Tummel looked fantastic. Even the landlady at the B&B told us to help ourselves to breakfast as she was going fishing. Sadly I never got a chance.

Re: Grayling on the fly

Unlucky IB. Know all about problems with the motor at the moment. Mrs BR car is dumping all of it's coolant at every opportunity. I think it's gonna sting.

Anyway, really looking forward to the Greyling report, it's one of the targets I'd love to achieve this year.
