| Targets for 2011 After a cracking 2010,its time to turn thoughts on 2011, what little personal targets will you be setting in your own mind for the coming year . My main one`s are :- A double figure smoothound from the beach 4 differant ray species from the shore ,hopefully a couple of double figure one`s too A new PB blue shark will also be high on my list later in the year And if possible a 100lb plus common skate ,if i get the time for a trip to Oban. ................what fishing exploits ,will be making your 2011 a good one ????? __________________ Mike.. | Re: Targets for 2011 I'm with you on the Rays Mike ... I might have to venture to better grounds to seek them out .. | Re: Targets for 2011 after a pants year on the east Anglia coast, a cod of over 5lb and a bass of over 5lb would be awesome!!! a few good flats would be nice to!!! but if its anything like the last 2 years here im not holding my hopes up!!! |

| Re: Targets for 2011 I've set goals the last three years and found them useful. I'm with Nick that more time one the bank is first , expecially in the summer. The ones I want to crack this year are - Sea. Catch two or mullet in one session. Catch a bass on a home made plug. Coarse. 4lb+ Tench Lure/Plug caught pike Any pike 10lb+ Barbel 8lb+ Decent (20lb+) roach bag from the Severn. Decent (40lb+) bag of anything but not carp from Dudmaston Hall Roach 1.5B + Crucian - any Crucian 1lb+ I've kept them reasonable as I reset all my PBs when I restarted a year or two ago. First year I had some hard goals and too many of them. I probably get the most satisfaction in fishing in setting out to achieve something and getting it done. That's not to say I don't love catching anything anywhere because I just love catching fish. When the goings tough a doggy or even a bleak is better than a blank. I should know :) Too many unnachievable goals gets disheartening. __________________ Just remember, not all the heroes died. www.helpforheroes.org.uk |
