Night Fishing

Wed 9/11/09

It all started with fancy going, no probs when? 1330 we're going to fish all night and into
tomorrow **** note to self ask more questions.

So off we went armed with twenty boxes squid as big baits are required for the IOW area,
Skipper Ray, Trev,Dean and myself.

Chosen spot was under St Catherine's lighthouse, weather flat calm with wind coming up around midnight
NW F4 straight of the land, flat calm then.

As the sun went down Deans rod bucked and it was fish on, only to loose it near the top, after that everything
went quiet apart from the wind which stayed in the west and increased to a F5.Not nice as we rolled and nodded with every wave.

Strap Conger came in loads of them, none over twenty lbs (sorry no pics, it was too rough)
Trev was the man of the night with an 8lb bass.

Taken later when the wind gave up.

We fished for 26 hours although I did grab two hours sleep, moved three times
and tried all types of end gear, baits big and small all to no avail.

Next time maybe?????????????
