| Bury Hill: 21st February 07 Well, another meet at the infamous Bury Hill for FishyPaul and I today. Paul was there when I arrived at 7.05am (yes, really!). As Paul is used to fishing in the middle of the night, it was no problem for him, but for me? zzzzzz... It was raining, but other than a few light showers it stayed dry for the rest of the day. ![]() We set up in peg 38, with Paul tackled up for preds and me for carp. As is usual for Bury Hill, it was very quiet in the morning until lunchtime when Paul had a few bleeps on his middle rod, cast to the island. It went on like this for nearly half an hour until the bait was picked up and taken: ![]() After a brief battle, Paul landed a beautiful pike of about 11lbs: ![]() When unhooking, we noticed that another trace was hooked deep and looked like it was causing the pike to have trouble swallowing, so Paul did the decent thing and removed it, so probably did the fish a huge favour. After a minute or so, it regained its strength and swam off to fight another day. For the rest of the day Paul did not have any more takes and I landed a bream of about 3lbs on a pineapple pop-up boilie. Still, it was nice to catch up and have a good natter as usual, cheers mate Rob |

| Re: Bury Hill: 21st February 07 another day in the continuing saga of paul and robs battle with the residents of bury hill we had a great social day with few bites ,i was fortunate to get a beautifully marked pike of around 11lb around midday, that was the only bite we had between us for most of the day although the social side of it more than made up for the lack of action rob was using a coffee mug that was perfect for him !!! ![]() he was looking at a blank when his now customary aquaintance with the bury hill bream was renewed when a drop back bite saw him connected with a good bream ![]() after a brief struggle the result was this very nice fish which probably went close to 4lb ![]() we were kicked off the lake soon after a good day,we didn't blank but the company was first class , thanks very much mate |
