| The Carrs - 18/2/07 Well after last times visit here, i was eager to get back and actually fish it. so it was another early start (ish ) and i was ready to go for 10:45am. got there at about 10:50am (bout 2 miles down the road) to find my peg taken and about 5 others there. so i chose this nice little swim with an island and chucked some groundbait in. rather funnily, there was a rather crazy scotsman there as well who started to sing and whistle, and didnt stop for 6 hours, when he left, so i was treated to some light old fashioned music for my stay (maybe it was a charm, he had 4 carp, 7lb, 3lb, 4lb and 2lb and about 10 small rudd)![]() upon arriving, we had learned that the people opposite had already had a little mirror to about a pound and a half and others had had similar results, so i was keen to get fishing. set up about a 5 and a half foot depth with a 4BB waggler. one white maggot and one red maggot as hookbait, on a size 14. almost immediately, i had a bite which i missed. but then, as soon as dad had left i had my first little rudd of the day, which was nice. ![]() i kept fishing and through the next few hours i bagged up with 12 rudd, the nicest being this one, so another 1.5 pts please! ![]() then i saw a jet of bubbles rising near the island and thought about carp or tench to add to the list, and sure enough i got a bite and it pulled like something decent! unfortunately, the hookhold wasnt as good as i needed, and it spat the hook after about 10 seconds. oh well. i tried everything from switching baits to switching to a feeder and all i got was one more little rudd, so i decided to pack up at around 4:10pm, with a nice little bag of rudd and a lost carp/tench. the guy opposite had got a ghostie to about a pound and another mirror the same size on feeder with a peculiar but good bait, small chunks of potato soaked in coffee overnight! yet again, i like this video the venue kind of thing, perhaps we could have a venue video area set up on the forum? so i took one of the carrs from my point of view. bit of aid with the vid again please? :-) JjwD2QREwTI __________________ "Alright Jack, we all ready to fish?"
