today

went to reepham today, with my dad and digital camera! had esterberry boilies and 1/4 pint of maggot, got there about 11, and started catching small rudd and golden rudd, here is 1:

lots of carp were on the top, and didn't look interested in feeding, until my bite alarm went off, this was the fish, a 5lb ghost carp:

the some more rudd, until i lost a 3 or 4lb mirror carp, a quick move and we were back into the rudd, then this fish turned up a 2lb mirror:

after some bad rain, and no more runs or rudd we decided to move to the 2nd lake, this fish turned up within 10 mins a 4 and 1/2lb mirror:

after that the bite alarm went off again, it was a big fish on, after a long and hard fight dissapointingly the line snapped (8lb) and the fish was lost, i'd estimate him at least 14 or 15lb.

then came this fish, a 4 and half lb mirror:

another 10 mins went, and this fish turned up, a great fight and here it was the best fish of the day 11 and 1/2lb common:

it was getting dark, and wasn't expecting more runs, i saw the line tightening on my freelined boilie, and here was the fish, a mirror 6lb (bit of redeye):

here was the last fish of the day, a common of about 4 or 5lb:

had a brilliant day, and can't wait to go again!!

most people do it on rivers, but cos i lost my float we just freelined them, easy to see bites, and i caught a couple of carp (including the biggest) on a freelined boilie
