| a bit of winter carping Having got my Rods and Reels for this summers french trip I am itching to test them out. So, despite it being a bad time of year for a commercial carp fishery, I am planning on heading over to Stuminster Newton and fishing at Todber Manor on Saturday. I am going with Twiddler and hope to meet up with Warmit63 there. Not decided on tactics yet but might do a mix of hair rigged boilies ( not a technique I have used) and some good old fashioned corn and maggot. With the relatively mild weather this year I am planning on feeding at a reasonable level, nothing like summer levels but still more than would be normal for february. Ground bait, pellets and a good dose of maggot when on corn and maggot hook baits. Not decided on feed for the boilie tactics yet. So if any of you fancy a day out on a carp lake we will be heading for Wadmill lake for about 8 am. Mike |

| Re: a bit of winter carping Good luck , hope you all have a great day out and catch a few Paste is well worth a go this time of year and try wraping a bit around your hook baits or use two small 10mm boilies on a short 6" hair rig with a small pva bag... Also worth taking some big lobworms like Kevin says above very good bait for this time of the year Justin |
