| When it all comes together........ Decided to go to a local day ticket water to try for some fresh baits for a Zander session.Started fishing at 10:45 am and by noon i was heading home with 10 lovely fresh deads 8 gonks 1 roach and 1 perch. Swapped my bit bashing gear with Zander gear and was fishing the Coventry canal near Lichfield for 3:15 pm. It was all quiet til about 5 pm then within 10 mins i had lost 1 fish and missed 2 takes.Then nothing for another hour.So i was rueing the missed chances Then at about 6pm both rods went at the same time resulting in a 3 lb 2 oz P.B.and a 2lb 8 oz in the net at the same time and before i had got 2 rods baited and back out i had another at 2 lb 6 oz.Then it went quiet again for a while before i added another 2lber and 3 1lbers. I packed up at 9:30 pm having had 10 takes and landed 7 zeds with a new P.B.,i know they weren,t big fish but i really enjoyed the action and made my journey home feeling well pleased with myself. robm     |

Yes they certainly were,i hoped that would be the case,from my Pike fishing experiences i would make the effort to fish on the prediction of some colder weather coming in, i have read in many articles that predators seem to get triggered into feeding preceeding a cold spell,quite often i had some good results on them sessions and we are expecting some colder weather over the next few days,so maybe i was there at the right time. Just to add last night was very mild 13 degrees showing on my car while driving home,i cant believe its mid January!. robm |
