Lime kilns piking tommorrow

well as long as weather men have got it right(blowing a gale and foul out there at moment)
I will be at the lime kilns exeter again tommorrow to see if my own made rigs can catch a pike

report back as ever

Re: Lime kilns piking tommorrow

well i went to lime kilns again this morning
got there far too early for any sane people

set up in first swim too right of banking
nothing doing there (did miss 1 run though ), guy who turned up 2 hours after me had a 14lber out first cast 2 swims up

so i moved on arround the corner to where the canal looks more like a canal than a lake lol, and re setup

after missing another run managed to conect with this pretty 6lb4oz er
on ledgered bait just infront of left hand tree

which didnt fight much on way in but went mental on the mat
missed another 2 runs (which was starting too bug me now )
then decided to drop a float out to left hand of far reed bank
was just letting it settle before taking up the slack when the float dissapeared and this fiesty little jack came to the net

all runs/fish were on lamprey again, not a touch on any other baits

a nice little session despite a few showers in morning
with plenty of wildlife as well, as saw first lapwings and brent geese of year so winters well on way now, also mink & kingfishers working the far bank
also alot of carp or tench grubbing along swim as well but had no tackle for them

Nice one mate! You're becoming a pike master! Must be satisfying to know your rigs work too
