| River Wye - 4 November I'm intending to try my hand at barbel fishing on my club's stretch of the River Wye this Saturday. This will be the first time I've fished a river for about 20 years so should be fun. Hopefully the recent rain means the river levels will be just right and the forecast between now and then should ensure it remains fishable. As well as chasing the barbel I am hoping for a chub and will probably try trotting tactics in an attempt to get a dace and possibly grayling although I'm not sure if they are common in this area. If all goes to plan I will hopefully pick up some much needed points for the species hunt and get some species I haven't caught before (nuisance dace, gudgeon, rudd etc. will all be welcomed!!!). I hope to have something to report soon.     |
