| Mr. Legendary Due to a mild concusion I manged to get myself at work the other day, Mike and I decided not to join Greenheart at the Bristol channel but have a gentle session at the K&A canal again. We arrived at the canal approx 9am, chose a swim near were Mike fished the week before as I wanted to target Perch and Tench this time. The weather condition was dry but windy, so I decided to set both rods up on a ledger with a 12-10 size hook and 10-12 maggots on each hook, hoping to get passed the small fish. My swim ![]() The morning started slow, almost no bites, so Mike and I decided to move swims a few hundred yards up the canal. Again, the next swim wasn't very productive, the odd Rudd and Roach around the 8-10oz....exactly what I didn't want lol... ![]() So after an an hour and half we decided to move swims again...still on the search for Mr. Perch and Mr.Tench. Now this swim was even quieter, so we gathered that it might be the home of a was a larger predator like a Pike maybe. I caught a few bream around the 8oz-1lb size ![]() ![]() And...as you can all guess Mr. Legendary came along too... Here a couple of pics....of the fish (which name I don't want to mention, as I DO NOT want to upset a certain forum member lol) This one was caught by Mike ![]() This annoying fella took my 10 size hook with 10 maggots on...greedy little fish ![]() Mike was sure he saw Mr.Pike about 3 foot away from him taking a little fish, so he decided to rig up for piking and try his luck.....well what can I say....Mr.Pike didn't want to play. All in all, we had around 20 catches each above the tiddler size but sadly there was no sign of any perch or tench throughout our session. Around 5.30pm we decided to call it a day and packed up ready to have a chinese take away and a few cans of yellow lemonade ![]() __________________ There is certainly something in angling that tends to produce a serenity of the mind." - Washington Irving |

| At least you caught a few good fish Claudia, no doubt the Tench & Perch will show next time. Try using a bunch of redworms or a fat Lobworm. Nice Ruffe too.... (Said through clenched teeth) Did'nt stop at the Barge on the way home then? __________________ One man's fish is another man's poissons http://www.deepsea.co.uk http://www.wildtrout.org |
