Re: Peacock Bass CR The earthquake did not hit Singapore, it's just that i've been busy lately with other things so i have no time for much fishing. DW, Singapore is a tropical country. We do not experience the 4 seasons. The fish here are mostly Peacock bass, Snakheads. You can find them in almost any reservoir.

Re: Peacock Bass CR Great news, guys! I have found a new place to fish in freshwater. At this particular place, peacock and snakeheads readily take big topwater lures like Super Zara Spook. I visited this place last week but unfortunately, it was raining non-stop. When the rain stopped, I had a few misses from, hopefully, snakeheads. Going back there again this coming Sunday. Wish me luck!

Re: Peacock Bass CR Ok, so we haven't been able to visit "topwater lure paradise", but we managed to sneak in some time to revisit our old water hole. Recently there was a murder case there, so many anglers have stopped frequenting that place, fearing that security might be tighter. We decided to take that chance. We reached at about 7.15am, which was first light. The four of us positioned ourselves about 10m apart and started fishing. Wilkie was the first to shout, "Fish on!" We watched him fight the peacock bass before it threw the hook. Fear not, he continued casting and in about 5 more casts, he got another one. He landed it, took a picture and released it. All in all, nobody blanked today. We were all pleased with our catch. Wilkie: 2 landed, 2 missed Shawn: 2 landed Nicholas: 3 landed (ALL WERE 4LB AND ABOVE!!!) Me: 4 landed (all less than 2lb) In two days time, we're going hunting for some monster pacus that could easily tip the scale at 15lb. By the way, does anyone here know what rigs to use for pacus? And also what's their favourite food. Thanks ![]() One of Nicholas' 4lb peacocks.

Re: Peacock Bass CR Oh, these were from November. Forgot to post these. Went to a friend of mine's pond half way around Singapore. He told us that his pond held giant snakeheads but we were a bit skeptical so we tried using bread to aim for big freshwater species. All of us managed to hit a new species at that pond. ![]() ![]() Carp ![]() ![]() ![]() Patin (Something like Mekong Catfish) ![]() ![]() Pacu ![]() Giant Gourami

| Re: Peacock Bass CR Good Job fosey!!! Great pix and report, as usual. Congrats to your friend too. I've seen a pic of the Pacu before, at least one has been caught in Nebraska. It made the news paper. The strange looking teeth were featured in the article. Apparently someone had it as a pet and released it(illegal in NE) The guy that caught was going to have it mounted. __________________ A bad day fishing is better than a good day working!
