 River Tees Pike Trip- some day in september well, as promised, me and my dad went with my cousin down to the river tees at preston park.got there about 3:45 pm and found a nice spot with overhanging willow on the left, open water out in front, and an overhanging bush on the right. i decided to take the wobbling approach, and my cousin decided to float fish with deadbaits. so i cast out my first smelt of the day, count it down and wind in.somethings not right. why cant i wind? i strike into it and the rod curls over! Ive caught a tree.  . so i spend the next 15 minutes heaving and hoing until me and dad put into practice what we leanred on the piers of hartlepool. wrap the line round ur arm and walk back until something gives way!the treble gave way as i found out when we got it back in as one of them was now a double with a small harpoony bit, straightened out perfectly.  first smelt lost in less than 20 minutes, so i change over to lure for about 40 minutes with nothing happening, so i stick a float on and do what my cousin is doing. not much else to talk about now as youve probably guessed, WE BLANKED! we packed up ealy at around half 8 and went off home. i apologise for the lack of pictures, i got some great ones of fishing in progress and the swim, but...the highlight of the day... i kind of dropped the digital camera into the tees. (it was my aunties   )so! all in all a pretty bad day! __________________ "Alright Jack, we all ready to fish?" "Yeah!" "Did you bring the rods?" "Errmmm...."     |
