| bramerton bream firstly i would just like to say i,m sorry for the poor quality of the pics just could not get them allright tonight . any way i said the other day we were going to try and target some big bream on the river year . so we decided are best bet after the other night would be to go the bramerton green as this has done some big bream recently to a freind of mine . tactics were similar to the other night ground bait and hook bait were but i changed from the loop rig to a short paternoster rig i think i actually said a paternoster rig the other night but it actul was a loop rig . also the other night i dropped alot of fish and i put this down to the hook type i was using which were drennan super specialist hooks which are quite a heavy gauge so i decided to change to kamasan animal hooks size 8,s ![]() we arrived at bramerton green just around 7 ,30 pm and walked a fair way up on the bend to try and get away from the other anglers who were there also . we were soon sitting there with are rods out waiting for some action . again we decided that we would fish clipped up and not feed out . my mate phil fished a bit further back than me and also i could see he was also fishing a short distance out . as we were on the out side of the bend i decided that the fish would probably be holding in the slower water over two third across and this is where i clipped up to . i had my first bream shortly after casting over not a big bream but opened the account . ![]() i was soon back out and it was not a long wait before the tip swung round and i connected with another smallish bream but bigger than the last one . ![]() again i cast back to the clip and settle down waiting for the tip to go again i saw phil land a his first bream of the session so he was also on the fish where he sat . again my tip swung round and againi was into a fiesty little bream which put up a spirited fight before it was safely netted . ![]() this was going ok i i had not nissed a bite so the change in the early stages is looking like it was the right thing to do . again i was playing in another nice bream alot bigger and thicker than the other and i was hoping that this was the start of the bigger bream ,. it was netted and put into the keep net i was soon over to my spot and i settle back waiting for another hopefully nice bream again i struck and felt the bream this to was soon in the net . ![]() this was going great with me now not missing a bit another couple of bream were hook and they too were place safely into the keep net . i was thinking whether the hook change was going to be a100% percent catch rate with yet another hook up . ![]() i then bumped a couple of bream off and i noticed after this i had to wait a bit before a bite phil had a couple of bream but it was looking like it was slower where he was . i told him to move up as i was catching very well indeed but he was happy to stay where he was and just chill out . it was also getting damp and it was also getting misty but the bream were still feeding well in my swin although i had not had a real biggy ithe bream had certainly were getting bigger . ![]() time was getting on i was getting a bit tired and was had aslo started to miss the odd bite and they were also slowing down and not feeding as hard as they had been . phil agreed that he had had enough and was damp and feeling a bit cold as there certainly was alot chillier tonight . also it had been slow and he had only had a total of 4 bream i ageed and packed away my gear phil came over and asked how did i do i told him i caught staedily but the better fish had alluded us and i felt they were just further up and i was going to keep my ground bait and try and get down to fish further up towards the houses to see if the big bream were there . i went to lift the net and it was heavy and could nbot manage it and phil thought i was messing about but i told him to try and he struggle aswell so i gave him a hand to lift it although i did not have as many as the other night i certainly felt heavy and i estimated it was about 50 lb to 60lb in weight . ![]() its surprising with bream how quick you can amass a big weight again i had done well and i think the hook issue was now not going to be a problem next time . also i think fishing to the inside of this bend while the water is coming in does seem to hold more fish the the more pacey part of the bend where my matye was fishing but i might have just got lucky . soon the bream were back in the water to fight another day and i hope i get a chance to come back down tommorow night to try and track the bigger fish down before i seriously get my zander head on . tightlines kevin |

| Re: bramerton bream well rob as the weather has gone hot again i,m not going to target the zeds during a hot spell as they can belly up in thge hot weather very quickly . but when i only got a eveining to kill and don,t fancy humping the carp gear about although i might be going after another fen drain carp so watch this space but will see but i know i,m going breaming again tonight to use up the last of my ground bait . tightlines kevin ![]() |
