100lb plus ! PART1 i.have had to write this up in two parts asa i could not use all the pics in one so i,ve divided up and will do the main right up straight after this using the reply ok . well last night i after a really good day and a constructive meeting with education which lasted over four hours my good mate phil (the bream meister ) came round to see if i was up for a session .well you know me i thought for about 0.oo3 of a second before replying yes . he reminded me it was my turn to choose the venue so i thought about it and we had been fishing the thurne, the ant, and the river bure but we had not tried the river yare yet,as we normally wait later on in the year when theres alot more water pushing up . we discussed the prospects on fishing the river yare and with the high tides pushing alot of extra water up the bream should be around (brammerton section ) soon we were there just up stream of bramerton heres looking up to the right ![]() here is looking to the left ![]() first thing we needed to do was prep are ground bait we used a simple mix of brown and white bread crumb with crushed hemp pellets with two tins of sweet corn . ![]() ![]() once you have mixed it up it should look like this just wet enough to break up out of the feeder nicely . ![]() tactics for this section again was very simple which was swim feeder with a 2ft hook link(4lb ) a size 8 hook and tipped off with two pieces of corn . to assure accrucy we picked are marks on the far bank and clipped up so hopefully are baits would land in the same area builting up are swims through out the session. part 2 directly below ./

Re: 100lb plus ! part 2 we soon had are feeder rods out just before dark and the tide was coming in so we were confident that the bream would show here we also decided we would clip up and fish just the feeder with out balling in any ground bait as we have found in the past they some times do not respond to it . the first half hour past with out and action and then my mate phil was the first to open the bream account with a nice fish but i would exspect nothing less from (the bream meister) ![]() it was soon unhooked and a quick pic was taken before it was in the net .phil was soon back out awaiting another bite . ![]() soon i was into a nice bream as well and phil was behind me and he took a pic . soon i had it gathered up in the net and unhooked and into my keepnet . the feeder was pushed into the ground bait and another couple of grain put on the hook and sent back out to the spot we were fishing . ![]() after this phil was again into another fish and we thought this could be a good session tonight so i took another quick pic of him with a another lovely bream as i don,t normally take any of him but i had decided i would this time . ![]() this went on steadly with phil catching them me one after another the bream came to the bank and we even were catch two at at time when it really hotted up how good is it going to get . ![]() this was getting silly and the feeders were in and out like yo yo,s and the nets were filling up with bream after bream. every now again we would miss a bite but soon it was back on the spot waiting for another . now ive caught some good bags of bream on the rivers and lakes but i had not had a session like this for a very long time it was just the same for phil and by midnight are arms were aching with all the hauling in of the bream one after another . we were still catching heavily when we deicided enough was enough and we reckoned we would have carried on like it all night it was just one of them sessions but we decided it was time to pack up . we knew we had caught 44 bream in total over the 5 hours and estimated a total weight between us of over 150lb . phil lifted his net out first and i had to give him a hand and was surprised how heavy it was we both wondered if are estimate of about 150lb was under estimated , than we first estimated but without weighing every one and then tallying them all up we would not know for certain how well we really done but we were happy with are estimation anywayand it did not really matter we both emptied his net out by taken then to the small side dyke where it was easy to put the net into the margin and slowly release the bream . then it was my turn and once again phil repaid the compliment and helped me lift my heaving net out and and again we wondered what are real weigh would have been. as my net is see through we took a shot of it with the bream to try and show how full it was . ![]() as you can see there is alot in there phil kept taken pictures while i was releasing them so heres a couple more to finish with ![]() ![]() there was loads of them we both had a great session and i,m glad you don,t catch this well every session at it just that bit more special when you get them red letter days and this one was certainly one of them and one i,ll remember for a long time . ![]() the last bream as i said farewell to it and thanked it for given us a brilliant evening phil could not resist in taken another pic while i was talking to the fish ![]() that was that i was really pleased how well we had actually done . but we were both tired after the hauling fest that had gone on over the last few hours . we are hoping to get out at another venue on the river yare saturday night after some big bream we are hoping if it half as good as tonight we will have done well . as i drove down the track away from the river and still could not believe how well we actually done . tightlines kevin

Great catch Kev, brings back memories of fishing for Bream in Germany when we used to use two nets & it took 2-3 men to lift them out. Worst bit was cleaning off all the snot at the end of the day... Well done mate. __________________ Don't Judge My Path If You Haven't Walked My Journey...
