Monster PERCH!

I hope to be going back to Kettlethorpe hall lake this weekend, this old estate lake is full of Tench, Rudd, Crucians, Roach, Bream with a few good sized Perch.

This is a personal mission to see how big a predator I can catch on this monster of a lure from Rapala.

The last time I was there I managed a couple up to 3lb but there are some clunkers in there!
If nothing else it will give me a good workout casting such a large lure all day

Re: Monster PERCH!

What style Rapalas are ya using? For perch we usually just use a nigtcrawler worm on a weighted leader or some type of live minnow and seems to work quite well! Good luck!

Thumbs up Re: Monster PERCH!

Had em on much bigger Rapalas than that Rich. This one took a lure over 3" long intended for pike.

Good luck mate.

That works over here too but I'm just getting into lure fishing and find it great fun. I use all sorts of Rapala lures, Jointed shad rap, shad rap, the husky jerk is my favourite, the one in the picture is my newest and by far the smallest, an original floater in silver minnow pattern. I have not used it yet but as you can see it looks the business!
