Yeovil Area I've got a few hours to kill between jobs in Yeovil on Thursday evening so rather than hanging around getting mugged I thought I might try to get a bit of fishing done. Can anyone tell me if there are any fisheries near Yeovil worth giving a go? Coarse or trout fisheries accepted but they need to be within a short drive of the town as I won't have a huge amount of time. Cheers.

Sutton binghams a cracking fly fishery 5 minutes from Yeovil town centre Pross. Just head out on the Dorchester road. Over the roundabout by the red house pub. Take next right turn, then next turning left. Plenty of signs. Try the far end of the lake on the other side of the causeway past the sailing club. Fish a small nymph or buzzer pattern on a floating line with a very slow retrieve. Theres a small jetty in the corner. Always fish there. Watch where you park your car though as there's some pikey traveller types camping nearby!!! They've removed the gate hinges to the fishery car park & are camped by the toilet block. If you park on the causeway, you can see your car from there. __________________ One man's fish is another man's poissons http://www.deepsea.co.uk http://www.wildtrout.org

Re: Yeovil Area Thanks Ian, do you know what time you can fish until? I'm expecting to need something to do from 4.30pm until about 8.30pm. The other fishery I've found on the web is Old Mill, have you ever fished there?

I normally fish Sutton Bingham until it's too dark too see. Mind you I generally get a limit before then. Never tried the other place mate. Another good spot at S.B. is the left hand bank when looking from the lodge, over by the trees. Have a look in the catch return book at the lodge to see what flies people are catching. Small Pheasent Tails, Black Buzzers or Daiwl Bachs usually work for me. Good luck mate. __________________ One man's fish is another man's poissons http://www.deepsea.co.uk http://www.wildtrout.org
