River Bann Hi, last sunday i travelled down to portglenone, county antrim to fish a stretch of the river bann. the weater conditions were perfect it was mild and over cast and the water had a slight ripple on the surface.i filled up the swim with my groundbait which consisted of three bags of brown crumb, half a bag of pineapple boilles, a pint of dead maggots a tin of sweet corn and there juices, some chopped worms, two kilos of hemp and 250mls of molasses.it is my favourtite bream ground bait it had been so good on other occasions. my rod setup was 12 foot feeder rod, 6lb reel line, and at the buisness end i had 4lb hook length an opened ended swimfeeder and a size 14 hook with a red maggot/sweetcorn cocktail. i put the rod on the rod pod and casted out about 15 foot.i was starting to get a few early bites which resulted in a nice roach about 1lb.i was all set up for a great days fishing but as soon as i casted back in the boats and the jetskis came onto the river and were racing back and forth the river . after this i did not even have a bite for an hour. the waves the boats and jetskis were creating very nearly pulled in my rod. that was enough for me i packed my gear and set home. that ended of a disappointing days fishing.i will hopefully be back some week day so the boats are not out. i would post a pic of the river up but i have not figured how to do it yet .blackwater __________________ WACCOE-MARCHING ON TOGETHER-WACCOE

Have to try that Groundbait recipe Blackwater. I've always found that when I fish the Kennet & Avon canal & other waters such as the Thames & Medway, that the fish soon get used to the boat traffic & if anything it encourages them to feed. Stick with it mate. __________________ One man's fish is another man's poissons http://www.deepsea.co.uk http://www.wildtrout.org

Re: River Bann try a night session mate or perhaps find a nice little backwater that will be undisturbed, i do agree with greenheart though,i have had many times when boat traffic etc has actually helped sport. best of luck next time out mate ![]()
