the white mill

well we went ot another part of the thurne last night nad it really did look very fishy .
the swim i,m going to call the white wind mill for obvious reason as it had a windmill directly behind the swim

this swim was also shelter by the cold breeze with the big bank of reeds that completely surrounded the swim it look really good and confidence washigh a fish or two would come our way .
heres looking to the left and the right up and down the thurne

there was a cold easterly blowing and we felt this would not affect the fishing as its been very warm of late and the water was very warm indeed although i did actually check the barometer and it read 1028 which is high pressure which could make the fishing a bit tricky .
again with all my last sessions i,m again sticking with corn as it been doing me the business .i mix up the ground bait and balled in about ten orange size balls just to my left just as the river widens and my thinking here was at this point there would possibly be a bit of slack water and thats where i hope to find the bream .the rod was flicked just to the bottom edge of the ground bait and we would now see what happens .
my mate in the meanwhile was having a mare of a session and what could go wrong was going wrong .on his first bite he struck and snapped up and he had to set up again which he was quite calm about .
i had a wierd bite about five minutes later but did not contact with it although on reeling in i had actually hooked up on my mates rig and he got all his gear back which pleased him no end .
soon we were both out again and the waiting began my mate again was in and a very small bream came splashing to the side and was quickly
unhook .
i watched my rod intensely as i felt i was not getting bites but liners from the bream over the ground bait i realised they were not really having it and fishing was going to be very difficult but i was not going to be beaten as i now knew the bream were there .
soon i got a definate bite and i struck and the satifying curve in my rod told me i had connected with a nice bream soon it was in my waiting net and it looked aroung the 4lb mark

again i was pleased yet another new venue and yet another bream had been weedle out of a new area .
and the rod was soon out again waiting and time was passing and bites were very slow coming so when i connected with my next bite only to drop a similar size bream at the net was annoying and also could be costly as to many dropped fish can spook bream away .
another frustrating 30 to 40 minutes past and another bite was seen and struck into and again another nice bream came to the net i though i do the pic later we fished on and when my mate had another snap up at his reel this time we decided we would call it a night as it was also getting quite cold so took a couple of brace shots of the bream .

and here different view of the same fish just before i safely returned them to there home and wished them good luck

we packed away and made are way back to the car and went home

tightlines
kevin

Re: the white mill

no i love all aspects of fishing just one of my mates like to bream fish so just to be fair when i choose what to go for in the summer its only fair so does he. in fact if i could only fish for one species only it would be the magnificent zander just an awesome fish trouyble is although i could fish for them this time of year they fight hard and can die in the heat and for that i,ll wait till september and start my winter campaign .
but until then i,ll just fish for anything
