st bennets revisted

well i could not resist going back to tst bennets asi really enjoyed the other night down .
i decided to go late afternoon to see if i could catch some bream in the daylight before it got dark and as i had things to do wednesday i would not be staying to late, i know i know you all think i,m leaving there early cause of the ghost that haunts the abbey
tactics were exactly the same as the other night so was the ground bait as well but i would be introducing the feed 2 or 3 balls at a time and at regular intervals through out the session to try and see if i could attract some day time bream from this swim i,de pick directly behing the abbey .
excuse these first two pictures as i had to wait for the sun to move round before i could take them.

so 3 cricket balls size ground bait was thrown in at about 5 meters out and the feeder followed this just behind the feed that was thrown out .
the rod was placed inm the rest and we would see what would materialise
yes its another one of them rod tip pictures

about half an hour past and the tip pulled round and i connected with surprisingly a lovely bream .
so camera was set up on the tripod and a couple of trophy shots were taken of it .

soon i was back out and every now and again a holiday cruiser would amble by with scantilly clad women sunny them selfs on top of the boats
so i did not mind them passing me by closely
but every time one did i would introduce another couple of balls of ground bait .
soon i was in again with another bream of around the same size

now i was please with this cause i wanted to catch some day time bream as i all way go after dark and with the boats and the bright sunshine i think i was not doing to badly this was put back .
now for some reason i started to missing bites and i try to change things around like hook length lengths and hook sizes but this did not make any difference and bites were being missed then it dawned on me these might be liners and with i reeled in and shorten my cast out .
the next bite i instantly connected with and another loverly bream was landed

then it was back to missing a few which gets annoying after a while but may be its just here ,
as afternoon turned into evening the boat traffic slowed down and it was really peaceful and in between the odd bites which also were slowing down i watched a pair of grebes diving and catching fish to feed to there two youngsters which were still in there juvenile colours but were nearly as big as there parents .
another couple of small bream were added to my tally and more balls of ground bait were thrown out it was getting late evening as the sun was getting low and of the water and i felt afew more fish could be banked before i headed of home .
the tip swung round and yet again i connected with a nice bream so i got hold of the cameraandtried to get a good shot of it as it came sliding in towards my waiting net ,but this was the best i could do .

still not a bad picture but not quite got the impact i was hoping to get .any way i added a further three more bream to my tally was surprised not to have had any hybreds or roach but i did miss a lot on this session i was happy with this afternoon to late evening session so i clear up and made my way back to my car and headed home .

tightlines
kevin
