Bloodworms boilie the evening will see

Well as Ive got the week off I decided to hit a lake that I know to see if the dark side can tempt me back

Arriving at 5pm I had a quick look around the lake and settled for a peg that was 4 to 8 foot deep with the far bak about 40 yrds covered with lots of over hanging trees

Set up in the heat ( think fat hommer simpson in a sauna ) and settled down waiting for it to cool off and the shine to come off the water as this lake only comes to life after 7pm. I was not expecting much at all but just could not bare another night indoors with the heat.

The bottom of the area I was fishing is that of weed and black smelly mud so with this in mind its was going to be bloodworm boilies

First rods rig ( close in )
Size 10 hook running lead
Froozen 10mm bloodworm boile hair rig
Fished with funnel web stuffed with bread / cruched hemp seed and 5mm bloodworm pellets

Second rods rig ( fished across the lake 15 foot from the over hanging trees)
Size 8 hook running lead
15 mm shelf life bloodworm boile
Fished with funnel web stuffed with 5mm bloodworm pellets

First signs of life started about 6.30 pm with my close in rod getting a few twitches from small fish and the tale tale sight of fine bubbles appearing . Mmm bream or tench

I missed two takes , but think they were just small fish having a go at eating and running with the boilie

Now it was 9.00 pm and I was having a lovely time , no fish yet but it was just so nice to get out.

Then suddenly my distance rod did a screamer and struck and missed it ( bugger )

No sooner had I re baited and cast this rod then my close in rod gave a few bleeps and went for it , I struck and felt a fish . Dam I thought this is a bit of a sluggish fight must be a bream and sure enough a nice little bream of 4lb 7 oz

THis was the only fish of the evening but as this water does not get over fished I know that it will only be time before the carp get used to my boilies

Lovely evening loads of small fish every where and the jack pike were busy chasing them all over the lake so next time might just take a plug with me

Sorry pics are a bit pants I must get myself a good camera

welcome back to the dark side!

It's just nice to get out on evenings like that and any fish are a bonus.

Well done!
