the quickie

had a very nice morning, the riverbank at 0400 is so quiet and beautiful,
settled in and started ledgering with a 14mm halibut pellet on a 1/2oz link ledger, had a quiet half hour then changed to luncheon meat and bites came straight away,i missed two before a good strong pull resulted in a nice chub of about 2 pounds nestling in the net, good start, but it got worse after that, lost 2 fish in the next 2 casts and that ruined the swim, didn't get a bite after that,
tried stalking a couple of chub on the way back to the car but they didn't want to know,so off i went home, back indoors by 0800,it was fun but my god i am so tired !!.
sorry bout the quality of the pic,the bloody fish woudn't keep still.

Nice one Paul, god what an early start. Well done on the chub mate. Halibut pellets and luncheon meat? Shame there was no barbel around
