Report on the setting lines

went to the river set 1 line except it was in bout 5-7ft water witha goldfish & sand toad on it caught a 4lb channel cat was going to take a picture of it but then the other guys flayed it lol but it was a nice 22 inches

set 1 line???? is this just a ledger rod or more a long line staked out??

staked it in the bank of the river let it sit there and we flayed it as in cut it up got the meat and cooked it

i can,t say thats my type of thing (infact i don,t even class it as fishing )and incidently setting lines over here in england is banned and quite right too (although some do go out and stake lines out ) and we try and encourage catch and release of our course fish .

do agree with kev there, thats not really fishing but hey your in a different enviroment, trying to think what catfish would taste like as well????

If they get too big/old try to imagine the effervescent tingle of MUD on you tongue.

Theres big debate here too about "Trot lines" or "Set lines". Giant in the south.
In Nebr. they're only legal in rivers, or on private waters totally enclosed by private land.
