mixed bag and points

well my carping day didn't happen,took one look out the back door at 0400 and was greeted by a very cold NW wind , not a very good wind for the exposed lake i had in mind.
made alternative plans with my son and opted for a day ticket water not too far away that we hadn't been to for a while,it is surrounded by trees and should give a bit of shelter, well that didn't seem to be happening when we got there,waves sweeping across the surface and quite frankly i was frozen.

we decided on a little tucked away lake just behind the main lake ,this would give us some degree of shelter. now this lake is quite new,3 or 4 years i guess and is narrow and winding with all sorts of trees and reeds in the margins,

we found a nice spot and i started fishing against the island on the far bank,a load of reeds were hanging in the water and i could see the odd fish topping in there, i fed a few handfuls of 4mm halibut pellets and fished small bits of luncheon meat over it.
ended up with 2 carp , 4 chub , 3 good roach , a bream , a barbel and a gudgeon, all caught on luncheon meat with the exception of the barbel that took sweetcorn on the drop.
an unexpected good day,and 41/2 points as well ,can't be bad.

i know it been bad here since yesterday with that wind .
and another 41/2 half points aswell blimey i,ll have to start to pull my finger out and start chasing a few rare species such as FISH AND THE EVEN RARER SEA FISH

you are right there mate,this particular lake is floatfishing only so it was match rod and 3lb line today,i havn't used my match rod for ages,it was fun
