| Return to the darkside Well i had another go freshwater fishing the other evening at my local lake just outside pompey. It was blowing a hooly so i found myself a sheltered spot amongst the trees and set my gear up. This didnt take long as ive only got a feeder rod a couple of banksticks a net and a rucksack of very little  Anyway i chopped a tin of spam up and lobbed it in and then cast out a legered lump of meat on a hair rig over the top of the spam.If i dont catch the fish i plan to give them all heart desease atleast. Well it only took about 10 minutes of watching the ducks before my cheepo feeder rod wrapped round and bent double ,after a few minutes i landed a common of about 8lb.Great i got my camera out for a photo and a few points only to find i hadnt put the memory stick in ,what a plank  Well this was how things continued for the rest of the sess really,it was pretty hectic at times i even put on a really big piece of meat so i could sit and chill for a while. I ended up with 10 common carp in just over 3hrs ranging from 3-10lb,oh and i had a roach aswell,all good fun on light gear. I m getting to quite like this freshwater lark but dont tell anyone,right i m off to get some peelers for some real fishing  __________________ One day i will post a catch report again.     |

| Re: Return to the darkside Nice one mate. I succumbed to the Darkside last year and love it, but then I live 30 miles from the coast But once I'd hooked into my first carp I was addicted. But I miss my sea fishing, can't wait for the smut meetRob |
