| Whitevane Pond, 18th May 06 No fish! However the wind was blowing and the rain was on and off all day. I'll return soon as it looks likes a great water, it's just that the fish didn't want to play today. The lake:  The lake/clubhouse:  My swim:  Cost: £15 for the day for 2 rods and they allow night fishing too. Some anglers had been there for several days. The clubhouse is plastered with photos of catches and also has toilets, microwave, kettle and and a TV. The plus side was that I had a guy in the next swim who let me try out a Fox Warrior XT 3lb TC rod. I was mighty impressed and may well buy some for the France trip Rob     |

I still use my match gear, feeder rods or a Barbel rod. Hooked a large carp yesterday in a snaggy swim & struggled a bit.
