floater fishing,a good start ...but well my day at the sydicate lakes was a lovely day,the weather was wonderful but alas the fishing wasn't. got to the lake at first light, for those of you who don't get up early to fish, you have to try it,it is magical, the sun is yet to rise, the mist is hanging peacefully over the lake like a blanket of silk and all is still. totally silent,no traffic in the background,no planes flying over, you are at one with nature, just breath taking, ![]() ![]() well i was fishing by 05.45,and had a fish on the bank by 06.15,a fin perfect little common of about 4lb ![]() and that was that,i didn't have a single touch on the legered baits all day and only the occasional slight interest in the floaters, the fish were basking all day with very little interest in anything, perhaps it was too hot, perhaps they were about to spawn ,who knows. it didn't matter really,i had a lovely day didn't see another soul all day, such a nice change from the usual hustle bustle of a working day Last edited by Norfolkboy; 05-11-2006 at 06:43 PM.

Sounds like you had a nice day anyway Paul, even if the fish wer'nt playing. I was watching the Carp at Sutton Bingham trout fishery today. They were going mad in the margins spawning. __________________ Don't Judge My Path If You Haven't Walked My Journey...

Re: floater fishing,a good start ...but well done paul they have all been doing the same thing in various lakes around here.. maybe they are just enjoying the warmth so much... i mean it was so cold for so long then the temps rocketed and now they are hovering around 20c mark! maybe thats a bigger shock to the system than normal? im still learning about carp but over the years i have had a dabble with them i have never known them to just sit there and do sod all, all day long at various lakes.. i know of a couple lakes where they do this but they can usually be tempted with biscuits you just need to introduce a load first to get them going! __________________ fishing for fish is not as simple as you may think!

Re: floater fishing,a good start ...but hello dave, yes that worked with the early fish,i put a few bikkies in and they started competing for them with gay abandon, after that they didn't show a lot of interest,in fact at one time i saw a couple of fish moving around, put a few floaters in to stimulate their interest and it had the opposite effect,it put them down. the long and the short of it is that they didn't really want to know,in the words of my teenage son they couldn't be arsed !,they were in that sort of mood,i might go there next week and bag up,thats the beauty of fishing.
