my 8 year old son scott came with me for the first time and a couple of friends ,got there at 7.30 sorted my son out showed him what todo and not todo ,gave him 1 of my favorite rods [bad move] first fish went to scott a 1lb roach and the next 4 then went to scott all about 1lb roach while the rest of us hunting the carp ,round about 11.30 believe or not scott again this time a 5lb common carp ,looked like the carp where in the margins ,i decided to get my new pole out never used it before so could be fun ,nothing for me ,12.30 came at last a carp for me on dog biscuit on the pole that was fun but do need to get tighter elastic as took for ever to land it only 6lb ,then guess what scott again with a 4lb mirror carp ,this boy doing well for first time then acouple more for me around the 5lb mark scott again with about another 6 roach again about 1lb loads of these things in there then a couple more carp for me on the pole and dog biscuit then about 3pm scott again this time he was struggling being pulled about [he only little lad] went running only to land a 8lb common cracking fish and after that scott had another 3 1lb roach all in all fantastic day enjoyed the time with my son even though he out fished his dad and sratched my rod [little bugger] so for today was 5 carp for me scott was 3 carp and about 14 roach all in all my 2 friends had 3 carp between them ,the carp seemed a bit twitchy today but had a few and really please for scott not a bad first fishing trip and he is hooked already and wants togo again, next time taking my daughter can,t manage 2 of them together lol

Nice one Chris, glad to see you are bringing up the kids right!!! Know how it feels though. My daughter snapped my favourite bleak whip the first time I took her.
