| Revel's this weekend I'm fishing Revel's this weekend between Dorchester and Sherborne and taking my 10 year old for his first taste of coarse fishing. I just want him to catch to keep him interested but it would be nice if I could find some decent carp or tench. Has anyone got any tips for success here? I haven't been coarse fishing for several years and no nothing of the new technology of pellets, pva bags and methods feeders. Thanks Jon __________________ Portland Jon Anyone can catch 'em when they are there. It's catching 'em when they are not there that's the hard part. | Re: Revel's this weekend its a whole new world of bait out there with hundreds of new boilies of different colour and glossy advertising and big named anglers holding big fish caught on that companies latest creations .also its the same with pellets you know all the companies will tell you theirs are the best but they are really all the same just in different packaging . even now understanding pellets and theirs usages in diferent circumstances will just confuse you to the core as there now seems to be a new product every week . when flavoured pva bags came out i hung my head and thought what ever next . there is no magic bait out there although reading what they say you would be forgiven in thinking that the advice to you would be keep it simple .location is the key to any fishing situation. regardless if its lakes, rivers or the sea and alot of the old tried and trusted bait still work far better than all these high protien leave a hole in your wallet baits good luck to ya hope to hear you had a good session tightlines baitmaster ![]() |

| Good luck Jon. I should keep to the methods that you know & fish sweetcorn, bread or maggots over groundbait. Would'nt worry about new techniques until you get back into it again mate. ![]() __________________ One man's fish is another man's poissons http://www.deepsea.co.uk http://www.wildtrout.org |
