casual day -the report

a casual day i said and that was exactly how it turned out.
got to the lake at 05.30 it was just getting light and very misty and murky,
the sun came up and i witnessed a beautiful sunrise, only for 10 minutes, the sun disappeared never to be seen again.

it was lovely, the lake was still.the cuckoo was singing and the rat tat tat of the woodpecker could be heard in the background.
the carp were crashing around everywhere,it looked so promising,
trouble is i think the carp were crashing around because they were spawning
they certainly didn't want a bait.
i didn't have a single bite all day on the bottom,
managed to pick up a nice common of 7lb 3oz off the surface in the late morning but it wasn't really the right conditions for surface fishing.

the rain came around mid day and it drizzled most of the afternoon,it didn't matter at all .i was comfortable under my brolly just enjoying being there.
a very nice day that catching fish didn't seem too important.

Nice one Paul, shame the fishing wasn't a bit better, but atleast you didn't blank, and by the sound of things had a nice relaxing day.

Never mind mate, there's more to fishing than catching fish. Heard my first Cuckoo two weeks ago. Nice pics too.
