Re: Rood Ashton Friday

Go for it mate..

THey will be on the feed now and with the new weed growth plus natural food spawning. They will be in the mood to get thier heads down.

Do not for get the margins ( over hanging trees ect ) . I know little but one thing I can say is if you sit and look at a lake for a few hours , get up a tree or do a roving hunt for carp will count for more than twenty trips just going to a lake and starting fishing straight away.

Think big and it will happen

Talking Re: Rood Ashton Friday

Thanks for the info Richard, Just hope the local trees are strong enough to take my weight!!! Local tackle shop was sold out of my favourite Van Den Eynde Expo groundbait, so i'm going to try some strawberry flavour. Will let you know how it works.

Re: Rood Ashton Friday

totally agree with that richard water craft is very important
you hear it all the time location, location, location,
alot of waters have not really woken up from the winter and spring seems to be slow coming .

although never fished where you are going i would find that this time of year small bait item will be the way to go .
also fishing a bait in the up layers on zig rigs might pay you dividends as again carp will be where the water is the warmest and a lot of time its not near the bottom (be surprised how many angler do not fish the water between the bottom two inches and the surface where they floater fish )
any way good luck greenheart and go catch a lump be nice to read the report

tightlines

Thumbs up Re: Rood Ashton Friday

Not fished Rood Ashton for years. It's a fairly large shallow farm pond with a natural stock of small to medium carp & very few other species. Definately no snotty Bream. I shall stick to match style method feeder & use a hair rigged bait. Only been using hair rigs recently & I've been very impressed with the hooking rate especially with small hooks (Size 12 - 14 forged ) & single grains of sweetcorn.
