reflections on a wildeness

at the moment i can not get out and go fishing but i,m going to be soon but while i have been laid up at home i,ve been reflecting on the season so far .
as you are all aware i have tried in vain so far to catch my rainbow and also have tried in given you blow by blow reports when i have gone .
its been hard at time to go in some of the conditions like sub zero tempertures and rain, wind ,and snow but i have manage to overcome these and have caught as well but also i have had my fair share of blanks too ,but i don,t give you them reports but hey! who wants to here of the blanks .
i been looking through my dairy of my trips for this year and i have even amazed my self in how well its gone and some of the sites and sound i have seen and heard while out on the banks . this season i have seen some fantastic wild life while quietly perched behind my rods like king fishers sitting on the ends of my rods .
only regret was i could not get a picture as it was amazing to be so close to such a wonderful little bird .also watched an array of other wild birds going about there business and while watching them i have got mezmerised in there behaviour .
also the other wild aninals walking or scurrying around the banks its all been magic too and then couple this with the sunrises and sunsets , it really does start to be a privaledge to be out there and i,m glad that i have been able to go because even if i had blanked more than i have ,i still have had a great insight into whats really going on out there .
but you know what i,m glad i had the chance as so many who do not fish will never be able to comprehend or even imagine the magic of nature up close ,
i hope also before the season ends i get to see some more magical sight to any way i,m going to leave you with my favourite pic of the season so far and is the picture the inspired my title of this post and i hope you enjoy it to

Beautiful Photo Baitmaster. Had a kingfisher land on my rod whilst fishing on the Bristol Avon some years ago & I also had a Goldcrest land on my rod while fishing the river Medway near Maidstone. I believe it's Britains smallest bird. It looks like a small wren, but with a gold stripe down it's head. Like you said, you never have a camera when you need one. Just invested in a pocket size digital camera so hopefully this should change.
Hope your back gets better soon mate. Must be very frustrating not being able to get out.

Re: reflections on a wildeness

Fantastic pic mate.
I was thinking the same thing this morning after I had dragged myself out of bed at 6 to go Pike fishing. I drove down Weymouth beach road as the sun was coming up. Flat calm and the sky was red and Blue. Drove out to the River Frome at Wool to be greated with frosty fields, sunshine and a light mist coming off the River. It made my day.
