Timsbury tommorow

Well i went last sunday and to my surprise managed to pull out 30 carp to 5lb, and after struggling on that lake the previous week and not catching (although 3/4 of the lake was frozen then and the only swims available were cack) i was well happy. Tomorrow should be 5 degrees colder though, so fingers crossed.

Also when i packed up last week i asked the owner about the fish sizes saying they were all small but he said biggest was 28lb and theres often doubles and twentys out on matches, BIG surprise when all ive ever caught there are single figure carp.

So i shall be watching that float with added intrigue tomorrow !!!

Re: Timsbury tommorow

Well got to the lake, started loading my gear onto the swim then notice some match boys turn up .. so no fishing there. Move to another place called Headlands Farm and have a tough day, torrential rain all day, 2 degrees temp decide to float fish hair rigged corn which turns out to be the wrong decision, miss bite after bite, try on the hook but then the carp switch off.

After about 2 hrs 3 blokes turn up and spoil the day, one sits no more than 3m behind me , all of them, get this, dressed to the nines in camo yet make a right racket so no guesses they were never going to catch anything. Added to that the resident goose has lost his mate so constantly calls right in my swim. Those guys really irritated me, i mean i couldnt even cast properly in case i hooked him behind ! Was almost going to say 'you fancy getting a bit closer or anything mate ?' but decide to try and spoil their blank of a day by catching a fish, so change depth and mess about till my trusty match rod brings a chubby 5lb carp to the net. And all of a sudden they're silent behind me. Pack up and nip back to see if the match is still on at timsbury, and yep it is so think ah well thats fishing. Gotta take the rough with the smooth
:)
