Wellow lake yesterday

Popped up to Nightingale Lake sunday night for a quick look, caught 3 carp on the surface, nicest being the following, just under 6lb i think.

Enjoyed the venue so went back up there yesterday, didn't take long to get them slurping on the surface out by the island so opted to fish with a controller and banded dog biscuit, with match rod / lift method as back up.

Had a good morning, catching 4 carp, then the afternoon slump came in, where i only caught one or two small carp on the float, and lost 2 nice fish, one took me into a snag and the other snapped off, i also lost more controller floats than i care to remember on the island bushes, so much so that i had to go home to get some more ! By evening things perked up and caught 2 more.

First of the day 7lb4 (it looks smaller doesnt it)

Next was the biggest of the day, 8lb8, lovely fight

I then remember i brought my proper camera, which show off the rest of the fish, absolutely beautiful, couple of them were foul hooked which i wasn't happy about. I know, i forgot my unhooking mat before anyone says (sorry)

All between 4 and 8lb, i just love the sight of my bubble float goin under and my line straightening ! :)

What a cracker, really very pretty i thought, about 6lb i think.

I think this one was about to spawn ? Looked up the duff to me.

And this final one, boy i thought it was 20lb plus the way it felt, really heavy, but was foul hooked and not as big as i thought.

Now i reckon i'd have caught alot smaller float fishing all day (but maybe more fish).
