Timsbury Lake

Plankton boy, took a look at this place earlier, alot of surface feeders what with all the overhanging trees, looks a good lake, pleasant feel to it.

Are you aware there's a lower lake up the road which is specimen carp. Looks like its open 1 oct - 1 april, run by the same people.

Might do a couple hours tonight in timsbury one.

Re: Timsbury Lake

Yeah its a nice little venue mate, and yeah take plenty of bread for the surface towards dusk they go mad.
Yeah i was aware of the other lake but it is a bit of a walk and i am not really a carp angler, i prefer me Tench or a mixed bag.
Also you can fish the River Test there for £10 a day, any method not just fly fishing.

Re: Timsbury Lake

Well i fished there for 2/3 hours last night, and i swear, throw in a handful of floaters and there were 3/4 carp all thrashing around feeding on them.

Caught about 12 carp to 5 lb, then switched to float, bait always taken before it even hit the bottom. One thing i didn't like was the state of the mouths on the fish, poor things didnt even have lips some of the time.

Never fished such an easy venue, have to take nipper down to teach him there.

Re: Timsbury Lake

Glad you had a goodun mate.
Must admit i had a load of carp with dodgy mouths also.
I personally think it is such an overfished lake it takes it toll on the poor fish in the end.
Bring back the close season on lakes thats what i reckon, give the fish a good break.
