Sunday report

My objective for two days fishing over bank holiday was simple - get some carp over 5lb, in my short time fishing i've not got over this size fish.

On sunday i went up to headlands farm again, crack of dawn and mist rising up off the lake, lovely. Notice two huge geese keep going and flapping and sqwauking right outside peoples tents, which was quite funny.

First two hours i don't catch a thing, lots of missed carp that unhook at the last minute, mind you nobody else is catching either. Finally hook into a nice fish which fights like mad, can't remember what this one weighed, probably about 4lb.

I switch to maggot and catch a few roach then see a group of carp patrolling the island opposite me, switch to floating dog biccies, jump about trying to scare off geese for a while then watch as a good carp takes the bait (what a feeling) and after a great fight (more heavy feeling than dart about) shes banked at 6lb2 new PB

Things die off for a while then hook into another carp, think this was about 4lb

Then hook into this one, banked at 4lb10.

Starting to really enjoy myself, and wonder why the bite alarm boys on the next peg insist on beeping their bloody things all the time when they arent catching anything. SO irritating. Still, i feel pretty smug since they catch f all. Decide to move swims back to a spot i'd found the other day, not really expecting too much since i'd had a good day, then hook into what feels like a monster, the old boy that runs the lake comes past on his tractor and sees whats going on and comes over, kindly offers to net it, as he does so the net comes off the handle (hes managed to cross thread the handle). and i look on as he jumps in the lake to gtet the net and the fish !! what a funny moment , shes comes in at 7lb4 woohoo new PB

Go home really chuffed to bits, and head out to longbridge sunday, where things can't get any better surely ?!? Target now is to get my first double.
