Red face Evening Session

Was sitting at home watching fishing, and decided I really wanted to go as I had nothing better to do.

So I arrived at Reepham around 4pm (half price after then ) and was fishing soon after on the legers. It was obvious they weren't feeding on bottom, so I packed up the leger rods and got out a float rod and decided to do some surface fishing.

It took a while to get past the thousands of rudd in front of me but after about an hour and a half, I finally got into a carp on a dog biscuit. A very good scrap on light gear, and a few minutes later I had this lovely looking common in the net, not big but like I said, great fun!

I couldn't get past the rudd, so decided to move to the next peg along (right in the corner) A lot of carp were taking off the top, and not so many rudd were about. Only the 3rd cast in with a bit of bread and I caught this little mirror:

Not long after that I hooked into a better fish (a common) but lost it near the net, it was probaly around 7lb.

Missed a lot of takes from carp but still had a great time, and no better way to spend a sunday evening!!

Well done, nice to see all the carp were on a un-hooking mat.

Nice one Dan!! I'm catching quite a few carp on the float at the moment, like you I'm loving the fight on light tackle!
