| First Tench Of Season well what a lovely morning it was, slight overcast but not too cold. up at 4.15, sorted tackle and waited for my dad to pick me up (he was a bit late as usual lol). anyway got to bank at 5.30 and it looked stunning. started off with a few balls of brown crumb hemp to get things going. fished a fixed paternoster to 16 barbless hook just over half way across, my dad doing the same just 10 meters away. my first cast produced an 8oz perch taken on worm. dad then lost a fish, snapped his 6lb hooklink, he was not impressed. ten minutes later the same thing happened again, the look on his face was a classic lol. An hour passed with out much doin apart from the odd little perch,( why do they always swallow the hook or is it just me.) Then my tip bent round and i leant back into fish, MY FIRST TENCH OF THE SEASON. .Twenty minutes later my second was hooked, but this one had game plan and headed straight down stream into thick cot and lily pads, every thing went solid, letting the line slacken for a moment the line tighten again and off it went again, this is what its all about. after a little tussle under my feet it was in the net along with a big ball off cot. After this we didnt get another fish, and tried every thing we knew but to avail. Packed up 1400 a happy chappy, dont think my dad felt the same though, maybe next time he will be laughing at me. I will add some pics when i figure out how to do it. |
