Squabmoor - Got some fish!

Hey all,

Today went to squabmoor, met pingu at 10:30. We set up a roach kit and waited. Pingu went and I gradually filled the swim with bait. I had bread/water mix for rudd. Maggots for Roach and perch, even chucked a few carp pellets out. Had a bit of mates groundbait in there. To top it off i used some worms as well so the swim was swarming by about 2 o clock. I was literlay dipping the hook in and pulling out a fish! I got in the end -
1 Perch, caught on Pingu's garden worms! I claim a Species Hunt Point There.
14 Roach, all caught on maggots, (it seems they like red maggots better) I don't claim this point yet as I have a picture.
1 Silverfish, so its called apartanly, caught on a green maggot!?, I also claim this as a point!
All in all it was good and I will definatly do it again

Re: Squabmoor - Got some fish!

I've been looking around the net and I think the silverfish is actually a small Bream I caught. Makes no difference to the points it just I worked out what it is called !

Great time out then, decided against the fishing as the weather got the better of me! But keep those points coming

Re: Squabmoor - Got some fish!

Nice one Steve.

Silverfish are generally known as roach and small bream I think, so you've either caught a skimmer bream or a silver bream (or are they the same thing)

Can't help without a pic though

Silver Bream are a seperate species, but very hard to tell the pure Silver Bream from small Bronze Bream (skimmer)
