Glen Farm today

The day started when we arrived at the lake around 6:50am. It was my 1st time to the lake, but Chris had been fishing it for a couple of years. It's only around 2 acres with no carp bigger than 15lb.

The weather was overcast with rain during the day and quite cold for most of it too.

No boilies allowed, so I fished 1 rod ledgered with catmeat/sweetcorn combo and float fished sweetcorn.

Chris was using the same methods.

He caught a small crucian and I have never seen them fight so hard, we went on to catch around 30 during the day all averaging around 10oz and really giving a great fight

On my second cast with sweetcorn the float went right under and a great fight produced this common of around 3lb:

A few more crucians were caught before my bite alarm screamed off and I landed my 1st ever linear carp of around 3.5lb

We both went on to catch more crucians with the odd fantail here and there, before Chris started to get into some carp.

He managed 4 carp from 4-6lb in a short space of an hour.

My next fish was a proper goldfish (no fight what so ever)

I went stalking for a bit and saw a carp on top so dropped a lobworm straight in front of it's nose, it took it straight away and I had much more fun and enjoyment catching that than from any carp that has screamed off on my bite alarm:

Later in the day Chris managed to catch 3 more fish from stalking where I did on cat meat ranging from 1-4lb. He also caught a nice bream.

I had a small skimmer and another small carp while he was doing that.

Another great day

Re: Glen Farm today

Anything from whiskas to katkins etc.. Just get CHUNKS in either gravy or jelly, doesn't really matter
