Wintery days fishing @ Beaver Fishery

We had a cold, foggy, wintery day's fishing at Beaver Fishery today (our first visit). A beautiful spot, with a good selection of lakes (10), facilities (shop, cafe, toilets) & variety of species (sturgeon!) and challenges for all levels. However, day tickets are a bit pricey, if just pleasure fishing with young un's (£10, juniors full price at weekends / bank hols).

Started off at Horse Shoe Lake and moved around between Junior Lake, Moat Pond and Eden Pound in our quest for success.

Very few bites (on bread, maggots, worms) and just the one fish all day ..... however my lad who caught himself a decent common carp (bread flake, size 14 hook), our PB to date. So we went home happy in the end :) :)

2 or 3 pounds, do you think?

Thank you for reading & cheers

Sion

Re: Wintery days fishing @ Beaver Fishery

I went fishing today but it was a flop, no bites, no line bites, terrible how overfished places get these days, still good fun and that :)
Tight lines :)

Re: Wintery days fishing @ Beaver Fishery

A carp at this time of year makes it a successful trip no matter how big it is. Brilliant!! I agree, charging the kids full price at weekends is a bit steep - thats when most kids would be fishing anyway - greedy people obviously own this fishery!!
