| Another close call between me & the lad Another good day at Gabriels Fisheries. Arrived after lunch, slow start on Hare Lakes (no bites in an hour), then we managed to catch about 12 fish (mostly small carp + few small roach) on Swallow Lake over the next 3 hours, before it go too dark. Following my last post, I now concede that my lad's mirror carp was slightly bigger than mine ... however, we had another close call today!! Me with a common carp (float in picture is 16.5cm, so about 21cm) My lad with ?roach? (his hands are 11cm, so about 15cm) I know I need to get myself some scales ... however which one do you reckon wins by weight? approx lbs?      __________________ Sion&Robyn Float & feeder - Lakes nr. | Re: Another close call between me & the lad I reckon your lad is the winner, I suppose his fish weighs several pounds! lol. Whatever the true score, just keep on encouraging him. I really like to see the youngsters developing an interest in our sport. It would keep more of them out of trouble if they all had dads like you to give them time and encouragement when they are at their most impressionable age. Kind regards. Of course, the enjoyment of watching that float disappear, landing fish, whilst spending quality time with my lad in the great outdoors are the most important aspects ... not who caught the biggest!!! He is definately hooked (sic). On his calendar he has drawn a rod & reel against every Saturday & Sunday for the rest of this year :) Could anyone confirm whether my lads fish is a roach?
