| Well the day started around 8am when me and Chris arrived at the lakes. We were met by Ed who we'd also be fishing with, his nan happens to own the lakes so we got some discount It was overcast with little wind and very warm. ![]() We were all fishing 2 rods each with a selection of baits; boilies, worms, maggots, corn and luncheon meat. The plan was to fish for carp on both rods up until about 6pm when we'd keep 1 rod out for carp and 1 out for eels on worms. I fished my rods with the new Dynamite baits Strawberry and Ice cream flavour boilies. After just 20 minutes I was getting line bites. About an hour later, a screamer on the left hand rod, hooked into a carp. It looked double figures, I was playing it for a good few minutes when it saw the net and really bolted off, next thing I knew it was off. Received a lot more line bites with the odd few bleeps but no real takers. Around 6 we switched to eel rods on 1 with a bunch of worms and boilies on the other for the carp. During some fish and chips, my rod screamed off on the worms, Ed instantly said that's an eel, but to our suprise it was a whacking great roach of 1lb 10oz The picture doesn't really show it's size unfortunately. While we were re-baiting my rod screamed off on the worms again, hit it but nothing there. The next to catch was my mate Chris with 2 specimen roach of 1lb 4oz+ and my mate Ed also getting in on the action with a 1lb 14oz specimen The night was mild and we were able to sleep with our bivvy doors open, no runs during the night just the odd bleep. This was my swim as I woke: ![]() Ed told me it was worth trying for tench with plenty of maggots on the hook. So out went a bomb with 5 maggots tipped with a bit of sweetcorn. About 20 minutes later that rod screamed off, the result a 3lb tench: ![]() Chris then lost a carp and Ed caught a tench of around 4lb. My next fish was on maggot again, a small bream of just over 1lb 9oz ![]() That was the last action and we packed up around 2 in the pouring rain. On the other lake a few carp were pulled out up to 13lb, so next Wednesday we're all back for a day session on that lake. Can you believe no carp ![]() ![]() A great session, with great mates and a really great laugh __________________ Dan `·.¸¸.·´¯`·.¸ Big or small, look after them all! ¸.·´¯`·.¸ ><((((º> |
