Tuesday 3/22

Fished a local lake yesterday afternoon, with high hopes of bedding fish, but none to speak of. the weather is holding them in deeper water. did manage to pull out a few decent bass tho. Caught of few small keepers on plastic worms and plastic crawdads. My biggest fish of the day(about 4lbs.) came on a 6" plastic lizard, still a fun day besides the fact it started to rain, and i fell down a hill and thought i broke my a$$.
Heres the 4 pounder

nevermind the hat hair

Well done mate

I see all these soft lures that are in shapes of lizards crabs frogs ect Do they really work or do they catch more anglers than fish ?

Re: Tuesday 3/22

Thanks guys!
Richard, soft plastics are the way to go, they're the only artificial bait that works all year long(i don't use any live baits, for freshwater) 95% of all good largemouth fisherman will tell you a plastic of some sort is their favorite lure. They're just so versitile and can be fished at all depths depending on how you rig 'em.

Re: Tuesday 3/22

Cheer DamageInc - Have been using the storm minnows which seems to me tops if worked right (even had a pollock wreck fishing on one) the white ones seem the best

I might be wrong but I think with jelly's its all about the way you work them and not what they look like. Twitching / counting the drop and choosing the right colour for the water visibility plus sun light

Love working any kind of lure as when a fish hits it make the old heart jump .... eps when you are just going to whip it out of the water a foot from the bank (wee tip there work the lure to the bank)

mmm.. note to self , go fishing more often

Re: Tuesday 3/22

I've had some success with the storm baits with the largemouth and the spotted bay bass in the harbor and the calicos in the paddies, they're definatly a good bait.
There will be days when your technique catches nothing then the next day you slay 'em. It's all in how you work 'em
