| Henfold Lakes, Surrey 29.07.11 Not a report from me as such but more about my son, Ben on his first proper fishing lesson. He had caught fish in the past with me but I jumped at the chance of getting him some proper tuition. This was arranged by his cub leader and was part of National Fishing Month. Also I wanted Ben to learn proper techniques not just my bad habits. Graham, a level 2 instructor with West Sussex Angling Academy set the swim up before we got there. The swim had been fed beforehand and a couple of whips were set up and ready to go. Hook bait was maggot. Ben was apprehensive about using maggots but after I grabbed a handful and showed him they were fine, he was hooking them in 5 minutes. He was fishing in no time! ![]() ![]() I caught a couple of bream, crucians and roach. Ben caught a roach, a gudgeon and crucian carp to a total of 8 fish, beating my total of 7. On top of that he caught a 1.5 lbs crucian which he was very proud of: ![]() I think it's brilliant that guys like Graham take time to help kids get into fishing. For a fiver it was money well spent. |
