Report 25/7/2011 Tarn

The more observant of you will notice i didn'nt use the word 'catch' in the title What i did catch if i was that way inclined would have fit on a sarnie.

I decided to do things a bit different today. I've been doing a lot of reading on this forum latley and have been inspired to try some different things.
The usual tactic is to ledger double maggot with a cage feeder, But i wanted to get out of my comfort zone and try a few things i have learned here. For instance i cooked my own hemp for the first time last night and added a few chilli flakes, garlic, salt and habenaro sauce. It looked and smelt the buisness, theres loads more in the freezer for my next session. I found it really satisfying actually, and cheaper. Also decided to use red food dye for my corn and used a lot of baits from the cheap baits thread.

I turned up at the swim i've been prebaiting for the last two days to find somebody sat in it. Thats just how it goes sometimes, anyway i had a crack with the lad and it turns out he'd had a few but would be off shortly. I came back an hour later to find he'd gone but left litter all over the place, two melted lighters and dumped the rest of his bait he wasnt taking home in MY swim. I was up against it as it was without this happening.

After i cleaned up after the moron and took a few deep breaths i was set up and fishing in no time and as usual the worries of the world disappear. It was a beautiful day, I only had four small Rudd all day, but one was caught on dyed red corn and 3 were caught on fake luncheon meat when i couldnt get a touch on the real stuff. I was by no means a prolific session but i learned more today than i have on my last ten sessions fishing the same old way.
