New Lake And An Old Favourate.

It Had Been Nearlly 4 Weeks Since I Had Managed To Get Out And Actually Fish. The Closest I Had Got Was To Weighting In Fish During Our Clubs Recent Carp Qualifier.

Trip One - Crockerton - 07.07.11

I Decided To Make The Most Of A Day I Had Spare Mid Week And Try For A Carp On One Of Our Clubs Lake Crockerton. There Had Been Several Reports That People Couldnt Catch The Carp During The Daylight Hours Due To Various Reasons; But Im Sure As Many Of You Know Who Are With Club That There Are Some Anglers That Just Go Fishing To Get Out And Some That Are Serious Anglers And Make The Best Of Every Minute They Have On The Bank To Try And Get At Least One Fish On The Bank.

I Arrived At The Lake Just After 09.30 And Decided On Peg 1 As I Know They Patrol Around There During The Day. I Set One Up On A 18mm Bottom Bait And The Other On A 14mm Pop up Rig. Ive Been Playing With A Version On The Blow Back Rig For Some Time Now And Ive Found A Set Up That I Really Like Now And Seems To Be Working For Me.

It Was Very Slow All Morning With No Signs Of Carp Showing Anywhere On The Lake. It Was So Slow I Even Nodded Off In My Chair. I Was Awoken At 14.15 By A Screamer. This Turned Out To Be The Only Bite And Run Of The Session And Turned Out The Be A Nice 12lb 10oz Common.

Trip Two - Hinton Lake, Summer Pool - 10.07.11

Myself, Cindy, Steve And Ian All Met Decided To Give The Summer Pool A Go This Past Sunday As None Of Us Have Fished It. Ian Give The Bottom Lake Ago Some Time Ago I Remember Him Doing A Report. The Club Has Had These Lakes Now for Over A Year And We Have Never Bothered With Them. Other Anglers Had Reported That They Had Been Over And Given It Ago And Not Caught Anything. We All Decided To Fish Up In The Water As It Was Hot And We Saw A Few Fish Topping And Moving Around. Things Started Well, I Managed Several Golden Orfe, A Nice Roach And A Few Perch. Cindy Only Managed Several Golden Orfe And A Blue Orfe Not Sure How Ian And Steve Ended There Session. Around 14.00 The Lake Just Switched Off And Nothing Was Biting. We Gave It Another 2 Hours And Decided To Pack In At 16.00.

My Fish.

Trip Three - Crockerton - 11.07.11

I Decided That I Would Visit Crockerton Again For Some Wag And Mag, Its Been Very Quite As Of Late On All Our Club Waters, Dont Know How You Are All Finding It On Yours Waters. I Arrived At 10.30 With 1 Other On The Lake Only 2 Others Arrived While I Was There. I Decided On Peg 13 With Is An Island Peg. I Could See Fish Topping So Decided To Set Up Shallow Again, Just 2ft Deep. I Sprayed Maggot Every Cast And Started Catching Every Cast, Some Tiny Perch And Rudd But Every Now And Then A Nice Roach Or Skimmer. The Carp Started Showing Again Around Midday In Pairs, Maybe Getting Ready To Spawn. Its Taken Along Time This Year On Crockerton For Them To Spawn. I Didnt Fish Long As I Had To Go Home And Get Ready To Go And Look At A New Club Lake.

Fish At The End Of My Quick Session.

Going On A 48hr Trip End Of The Week At Crockerton, Hopefully Have Something To Report Once I Return.
