with a couple of species in mind i am off to a local day ticket water tomorrow called charlies lake with my 2 boys
hoping to bag a cat,
providing those thunderstorms keep away

phew !! that was a hot one,
after a nice mukky D's breakfast me and my boy chris got to the lake at 0730,
it was calm ,tranquil and bloody hot,the sun was out and it was 20 degrees by 0800,
the lake is full of carp ,cats and perch with millions of silver fish,
so with species hunt points in mind i set up with large lobworm baits,

sport was very slow,the heat put paid to everything,
but a breeze popped up and it started clouding over,the lake started waking up
and fish started topping here and there,
chris got the first fish a 4 inch cat ( kitten ? ) on floatfished double maggot

that gave me an idea so i put a float of my own out with half a lob on,
the float buried a while later and a nice little fellow battled to the net

next cast the float dipped again and the other target species came in

a nice little stripey sergent
chris kept on bashing out roach and rudd but my legered baits remained untouched
we left at 4 when we ran out of worms,
would love to fish there tonight

Nice catch Paul, especially the Kitten, trying to find a water fairly local to me with lots of Cats, apart from Todber and Orchid Lakes, not having much joy.
