Day could have been worst!

Wasn't to bad after all spending the day by the weir in the boiling sun watching carp swim up and down, just under the surface! After originally going for the Barbel and Pike I realised the weather was 100 percent back to front for my target species! I decided to set up a maggot feeder on a boom and a hook link with a size 10. I covered the red and white mix maggots in liquid worm and stuck two halves of a lob worm on the hook and air injected them so they sat an inch of the bottom!
I found a nice bit of shade, for me and the water, a big overhanging Willow Tree. After 25 minutes of waiting I saw a small twitch on my quiver before it bent right round, and off goes the drag! When landing it looked like a small bream but actually turned out to be a 1lb+ roach! I threw the rod back out after changing the lob worm and refilling the maggot feeder, I didn't have time to get comfortable as the tip bent right round again and i was in again! Bit bigger this time and gave quite a fight, I saw a Bronzey, Silver glimmer just under the surface and thought I had a barbel on! When landed I was slightly disappointed had a slab on, a 9lb+ Bream that must have developed a bit of strength and will to fight living in the strong current! But A FISH IS A FISH!
And to top the day off........
I went for a nice cold Beer right next to the river

Re: Day could have been worst!

A one pound roach, very nice mate

And a 9lb+ bream, a lot of anglers would give their right arm for a slab of that size. Sounds very nice under the willow tree mate.
What more could you want.
